Hailing from Boston, MA, Dub Apocalypse is an instrumental dub Reggae crew, that performs a mix of original music and classic Golden era Jamaican riddims. Heavy drum and bass, bubbling rhythm, and an improvisational spirit has had Dub Apocalypse audiences captivated around the Northeast for almost 20 years. Griffin House is an American singer-songwriter and storyteller. Touring and making records for over 20 years, House has a discography that includes over 13 albums. His debut record “Lost and Found” (2004) was featured on CBS Sunday Morning by music critic and then VP MTV/VH1, Bill Flanagan, who named House one of the best emerging singer-songwriters of our time.  

After forging a loyal fan base through years of grassroots touring as an opener for acts such as John Mellencamp and the Cranberries, House broke through as a national headliner in 2009 with an appearance on Late Night with Craig Ferguson and the release of his underground hit “The Guy That Says Goodbye to You is Out of His Mind.”  

The music documentary “Rising Star,” released on Amazon Prime in 2019, chronicles House’s journey through the music business, as he attempts to balance the challenges of life as a traveling modern-day troubadour with marriage, fatherhood and sobriety.  

House’s music has been featured on prime time television shows such One Tree Hill, Rescue Me, Party of Five, and Everwood, and reviewed in magazines such as Paste, No Depression and Rolling Stone. American Songwriter writes “if you want to be blown away by raw talent, look no further than Griffin House.”

This special evening will feature an intimate "Songwriters in the Round" at Vinegar Hill, as Will and Luke Mallett sit down with friend and fellow singer-songwriter Eric Bettencourt. They will also be joined by Mainer Ryan Cyr. The Mallett Brothers Band is an independent rock and roll / Americana / country band from Maine. Their busy tour schedule since forming in 2009 has helped them to build a dedicated fanbase across the U.S. and beyond while still calling the state of Maine their home. With a style that ranges from alt-country to Americana, country, jam and roots rock, theirs is a musical melting pot that’s influenced equally by the singer/songwriter tradition as by harder rock, classic country and psychedelic sounds.

Texas Hill Country Explore Magazine calls them “New England’s wildly eclectic crew of genre rebels.” Bill Copeland Music News says “Combining their authentic roots rock sound with a reflective lyrical style that perceives stories on the level of epic myth, it’s like William Faulkner has been resurrected with an electric guitar in hand.”

The Mallett Brothers Band has performed at some of the country’s top venues and festivals, including Portland, Maine’s State Theatre; Austin, Texas’s famed Continental Club; Alexandria, Virginia’s Birchmere; New Hampshire’s Meadowbrook Pavilion; Nashville’s Bluebird; Denver’s Cervantes’; and Little Rock’s The Rev Room, to name a few. Ryan Cyr

A familiar face to many in Maine’s music scene, Ryan spent years co-fronting the original jam band Strange Pleasure, sharing lead vocals, harmonies, drums, and keyboards. His songs have always defied easy categorization—thoughtful, adventurous, and full of unexpected turns. Following the band’s run, he joined longtime friend Eric Bettencourt in Giraffe Attack, where original songs gradually became the centerpiece of their live shows. After moving north to raise a family, Ryan never stopped making music, and he’s excited to return to the songwriter stage with the same soulful voice and creative spirit that have earned him loyal fans wherever he’s played.

Built around a powerful horn section and a tight rhythm section, the band blends classic funk traditions with jazz, soul, and modern influences. Their performances move from hard-grooving funk to soulful ballads and jazz-infused arrangements, giving every show its own character.

Linda Eder is a versatile vocal powerhouse who first captured national attention with an undefeated run on TV’s Star Search in 1988. Known for her genre-spanning repertoire, which includes Broadway, standards, pop, country, and jazz, Eder's career took flight with her Broadway debut in Jekyll & Hyde and continued to soar through numerous solo albums and television appearances.

With 19 solo recordings, Eder’s versatility shines across a range of styles, including a country-pop venture with The Other Side of Me. She has recorded for major labels such as BMG, Atlantic, and Angel, with notable releases including It’s Time, It’s No Secret Anymore, Gold, Jekyll & Hyde: The Cast Album, Soundtrack, Christmas Stays the Same, and By Myself: The Songs of Judy Garland.

In 2013, Eder founded her own label, Tressamail Records, releasing the album Christmas Where You Are, which features classic holiday songs and a unique duet of “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” with her son, Jake. Subsequent releases from Tressamail include LINDALive (2014), Retro Volume 1 (2015), If You See Me (2018), Retro Volume 2 (2020), and her latest album, TOSOM (The Other Side of Me: Live Concert), which features 21 tracks from her original The Other Side of Me album along with additional cover songs. Since bursting onto the scene in 1967 as the founder and frontman of Roomful of Blues, Duke Robillard has been a powerhouse force in Blues, Swing, and classic R&B/Jump Blues for over four decades. With a career that spans more than 45 electrifying years, Duke has not only earned his place among the genre’s royalty—he’s helped shape its very soul, inspiring generations of musicians and captivating audiences around the world.

A two-me Grammy nominee—Groove-a-Rama for Contemporary Blues Album and Stomp! The Blues Tonight for Traditional Blues—Duke’s accolades are as impressive as his guitar chops. In 2010, he was named Traditional Male Blues Artist of the Year at the Blues Music Awards, and he’s taken home Guitarist of the Year honors four times, making him the second most awarded artist in that category’s history. Caitlin Canty’s songs harness the grit and spark at the heart of American music, tempered with a voice both haunting and distinct. Since the release of her critically-acclaimed Reckless Skyline in 2015, Canty has put thousands of miles on her songs, touring throughout the U.S. and Europe. She is a constant collaborator, both as a cowriter with Peter Bradley Adams and Jamey Johnson among others, and appears on albums by Joy Williams, Jeffrey Foucault and Darlingside. She has performed at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, FreshGrass, and Green Mountain Bluegrass and Roots Festival. She won the Telluride Troubadour songwriting competition at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival in 2015. Wake Up Mama, a tribute to the Allman Brothers Band, founded in 2022 in Portland, Maine, is made up of virtuoso musicians who are diehard Allman Brothers fans. Since forming, the band has regularly sold out numerous venues, including Portland House of Music, Vinegar Hill Music Theatre, and Jimmy’s Jazz & Blues Club, as well as drawing thousands to various festivals.

Join Mike Maurice, Adam Monaco and local special guests at Vinegar Hill Music Theatre on August 12.

Mike Maurice and Adam Monaco first crossed paths twelve years ago as strangers on the street: a Philly musician passing through town searching for a place to play, and a Maine busker juggling on Congress Street. Numbers were exchanged over the sound of traffic and car horns—and ever since, they’ve been swapping gigs, sharing bills, and building a musical bridge between Portland and Philadelphia.

Their long-running musical friendship even led to an improvisational side project called Pianolin… and audiences might just catch a glimpse of it live.

The night will begin with a special short opening set from a few of Mike’s piano students, celebrating the next generation of local musicians.

Maine-based artist Mike Maurice brings together the emotional honesty of folk and the dynamic sweep of modern indie songwriting. His music lives in contrast - tender yet powerful, with lyrical writing that's both introspective & deeply relatable. On his latest single “This Old House” (featuring Danny Black of Gregory Alan Isakov and Good Old War), Maurice explores memory, change, and belonging with a voice that feels timeless and deeply human.

After years of travel and songs shaped in live rooms, Mike is currently working on his next full-length record, projected for release in 2027.

The project continues an ongoing collaboration with Zavier Walker, whose harmonies and instrumentation have become a defining part of the sound emerging both onstage and in the studio.
